Scholarly research includes the work of reviewing existing books, articles, and other documents. Sometimes those resources are easy to locate, but not always.
It helps to be aware of the different types of sources that you can use, and where to find those, and how to look at them critically (to evaluate how credible they are, and how applicable to your research they are).
