eBooks @ The University of Alabma in Huntsville

This guide will give you helpful information on navigating our eBook collection.

Finding eBooks in the Catalog

From on or off campus, you can search for electronic books in our library catalog at http://librarycatalog.uah.edu/.  You will recognize that they are electronic books because the call number will have EBOOK at the end, the location will be Internet, and in many cases you will see the term [electronic resource] in the title of the book.

To view the electronic book, you can click on the URL link in the bottom right corner.  This will take you to EBSCOhost's eBook collection (formerly NetLibrary) where you can view or download the book.

If you are off campus, you can also access EBSCOhost's eBook collection from any of the links provided in our research guides and log in using your Angel credentials or try our remote access gateway and select the Netlibrary Electronic Books link.

If you want to limit your search results to only eBooks, you can do this by selecting "Electronic book" from the type dropdown list.

Please note that not all electronic books are accessible through our library catalog!  Please check with a librarian if you are having trouble locating an eBook.

Finding eBooks using the Journal Finder

From the Library Homepage (http://lib.uah.edu), click on the Journals link and select to Browse Collections.

Now you can scroll down to see the title list for the R2 Digital Library Collection, for example.

When you click on the Title List link you will see that there are 233 titles.  Simply click on the R2 Library link for any title that you would like to read.

Finding eBooks using OneSearch

R2 titles are also accessible from our OneSearch portal, which can be accessed from our Library homepage (http://lib.uah.edu).

Click the "Online Access" link to view the title.

You can view the different chapters by clicking on the links on the left side of the screen.  No PDF access is available for these titles.  Content is only viewable/printable at the section level.
