  • The best way to reach us outside of those hours is at refdesk@uah.edu

We have a variety of tools (including Zoom and Google Hangouts) for "face to face" video conferencing.

How do I get on the computers?

NOTE: As a guest-card user, you will need to use one of the PCs with a small yellow sticker on the top-right corner of the monitor. These are arranged in a single row in the Info Arcade.

Once you have your library guest card, you will use the number on the front of the card as your login name.

When you receive your library guest card, the User Services staff should also give you a slip of paper with a temporary password (to use for the first time you log onto the computers).

Once you log in, you can change the password by clicking Ctrl+Alt+Delete and selecting the change password option.

If you have any problems getting logged into the computers, please check with the User Services Desk.  They may need to reset your password.

Reference Books

Our reference books are a great place to start your research!  You will find them located on either side of the Information Arcade on the first floor, south wing (S1).  Reference books do not circulate, but you are welcome to make photocopies or scan pages if you find something helpful.

Below you'll find links to lists of reference books according to topic.  Not all of these books are in our Reference section, however.  In many cases, older reference books have been moved to our circulating collection.  Be sure to note the call number and location in the library for all books before you begin your search!

How do I get a UAH library card?

  1. Attend a library instruction session & tour.
  2. Pick up a Minor Use Agreement form after you have completed the tour/session.
  3. Have a parent/guardian sign the agreement.
  4. Return the form to the User Services Desk.  Bring a photo ID with you.
  5. You will be issued a UAH library guest card, which will allow you to check out 2 books at a time for 2 weeks.
  6. Your card will be good for the remainder of the academic year.
