The winner of the contest will be the design that receives the most votes. All submitted designs will be displayed for a brief period of time for voting in-person at the UAH Library as well as online following the end of the contest submission period. All UAH students, faculty, and staff will be able to vote if they choose to, and each person will only be allowed one vote. Contest participants will also be allowed to vote for any design of their choosing, including their own. We will not collect any identifying information of those who vote, but all voters will need to sign in through their UAH account when voting.
Additional information, including dates for the voting period, will be added soon.
This contest is sponsored by the UAH Library and only MulitMaker Lab library staff will have access to your submissions. All ownership rights/copyrights for contest submissions will remain yours, though the MultiMaker Lab may play or display copies of submissions for purposes such as voting, showcasing student projects, or promoting the lab.
The following are some examples of possible formats your submission could be in. However, this list is not exhaustive and other media or art forms are acceptable.
Welcome to the first ever Design Contest hosted by the MultiMaker Lab! Simply submit a piece of art, media project, or 3D model created by you that matches our theme for a chance to win. The contest will open on Wednesday, September 13 and will end on Wednesday, October 18 at 11:59 pm. No submissions submitted after 11:59 pm on October 18 will be accepted.
Below this box you’ll find information regarding the contest theme, rules, and resources that you can utilize when creating your design.
If you have any questions regarding the contest, please contact Anna Kate Tippett at anna.tippett@uah.edu.
The theme for this year’s contest is the poem "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost. All submissions must be somehow inspired by or related to the poem, any elements or specific lines/items, any themes in the poem, or any interpretations of the poem, including your own. Interpretations can be literal or more figurative or imaginative. You can choose to incorporate or use any or all of the poem’s text in your design, but this is not required.
“The Road Not Taken” entered the public domain in 2019 when copyright protections for the poem expired. For more information on public domain in general, please click here. For more information on when this poem specifically entered the public domain, please click here.
