Welcome to the MultiMaker Lab! We are located in M. Louis Salmon Library on the first floor, room 115.
The MultiMaker Lab was originally two separate spaces, the Makerspace and the Multimedia Lab. Both have now been combined into this one large lab and relocated to this larger space. Our equipment and software from both spaces are still available in this one convenient location.
The lab is a place to collaborate, create, learn, and explore. It combines equipment, tools, and space for you to work on physical projects. We also have equipment and software to create and edit multimedia projects, such as photos, videos, podcast, info graphics, and more.
All UAH students, faculty, and staff are welcome to use the lab and any of our equipment and resources.
Users of all experience levels are welcome! You can work on a specific project or just play around with the equipment.
If you'd like to learn more about any of our equipment or software, check out our events page for upcoming workshops or book one-on-one time with a lab librarian for assistance. We can help you learn a piece of equipment or software, or we're happy to consult with you on a project you’re planning or in the middle of. Click here for more information about this service or to book a lab librarian.
3D and poster prints are scheduled based on staff and printer availability and are available for a small cost. Please see our 3D and Poster Printing page for more information. The rest of our equipment is available on a first-come, first serve basis and is free to use, though you may need to supply your own materials. Only equipment available for check-out may leave the lab.
No food in the lab and no open top drinks near the equipment.
Digital files created or saved on MultiMaker Lab devices will not be retained. Please bring an external storage device such as a flash drive or use cloud storage such as your UAH Google Drive storage to save your files, and please copy and remove your data from SD cards and similar devices. All SD cards will be erased upon return.
Our full policies can be found on the UAH Policies page.
If you're interested in learning how to use any of our equipment or software and aren't sure where to start, or if you'd like assistance or advice on a school or personal project you're working on, consider Booking a Lab Librarian! Through this service, you can make a 1-on-1 appointment with a lab librarian for any of our equipment/software or related projects. We can meet in-person in the lab or online (when possible; for certain things in-person would be best) and will work with you to find a time that works for you.
Requesting a 1-on-1 lab librarian appointment is easy! Simply click here to open the form, fill out the required fields, and a lab librarian will be in touch soon. Please allow at least three days notice for scheduling an appointment.
