Distance Nursing students will have access to print material through Interlibrary Loan, e-books, remote access through databases, reference assistance through phone, email, and chat as well as information literacy instruction through self-paced tutorials and videos on general and specific nursing topics. This is all accessed through our library home page and through the Nursing Distance Learning Library Guide. The designated distance librarian will also be available to talk, chat, advise and set up virtual or phone reference appointments. If the designated distance librarian is not available the reference staff will field their inquiries. Through this personal and thorough procedure UAH Salmon Library attempts to make available all the research resources which traditional students have available to them. We also take the time and effort to be active participants in their educational journey through an introduction to the Salmon library and specifically nursing resources.
Remote Access to Databases & Library Catalog
In order to access the library's licensed databases and e-books, Online Learning students at UAH will need to login. Use the same UAH user name and password that you use for Canvas and other online UAH resources. (The user name is the beginning of your UAH email up to the @ sign. Example: jc0040)
