An overview of the services available to UAH students, faculty, and staff during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Policies Impacting Guests during Summer 2021

These policies are in place from May 10 to August 7. They maybe updated at any time and the period of enforcement may be altered. These policies are current as of May 10, 2021.

  • Guest users must abide by all library and campus policies, including Return to Campus guidelines set in place during the Covid-19 Pandemic and other temporary/emergency guidelines as may be instated.
  • Guest users may enter the library during the hours specified below. Guest users will not be allowed to enter the building after these hours. Guests who leave after these hours will not be allowed re-entry until the next business day.
  • Guest users must check in at the User Services Desk in the library lobby.
  • Guest users must be entering the library for library-related business such as research, use of materials, access to library resources, or access to campus resources located in the library, such as 
    • OIT Help Desk
    • Charger Brew Cafe (if open, currently it is closed)
    • Student Success Center
  • Guest users may purchase an account to use computers located in the first floor computer lab and/or to check out books. See Guest Cards, below.
  • Guests may contact the Archives and Special Collections ahead of time to set up an appointment. All other policies about guest visitors will be in place.
  • All visitor guidelines apply to the Library’s Government Document Repository. This collection is available to the public during visitor hours or by appointment.
  • Guests may be asked to leave at any time due to violation of library, campus, or these specific guest policy rules. 

Hours Open to Guests

The UAH Library welcomes visitors (non-UAH-affiliated users) throughout the week, including the weekends, during the following hours:

  • Monday – Thursday: 7:30 am – 8:00 pm
  • Friday: 7:30 am – 7:45 pm
  • Saturday: 9:00 am – 5:45 pm
  • Sunday: 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm

These hours may be modified during times when the library is closed or open fewer hours such as interim sessions or on holidays. See the full Library Hours Guide for current hours information.

Guests hours end at 8pm or 15-minutes before library closing, whichever comes first. 

Guest Cards

Guests may purchase a temporary guest access card to access certain library resources. There are three standard formats for these guest access passes.

  • 1-Day (4-hour) pass, Computer Access Only: $6
  • 3-month pass, Computer Access Only: $60
  • 3 month pass, Book Checkouts + Computer Access: $90

See the User Services Desk in the lobby to sign up for a guest pass.

Library usage that does not require access to the library computer, online resources, or book checkouts may not require a guest pass. 

Guest computer use is limited to 4-hours per day. Guest accounts may only be used by the person whose name is on the agreement. 

Alumni are allowed access without a fee. Other users, such as students/faculty/staff at other local universities, members of certain programs, etc, may be under a class of guest users that receive different access benefits or have a different fee associated.
